Missy Elliott recibirá el Icon Award en la Gala of the Stars de Dancers Against Cancer

Beverly Hills, 15 de octubre de 2026.- Dancers Against Cancer reconocerá a Missy Elliott con el Icon Award en la Gala of the Stars de este año, anunció la organización el jueves.
Janet Jackson, quien recibió el Icon honor en 2025, regresará para presentar el premio a Elliott, informó la organización.
El evento se llevará a cabo el 22 de octubre en el Beverly Hilton y apoyará a DAC, una organización sin fines de lucro que brinda asistencia financiera a bailarines, educadores de danza y sus familias afectadas por el cáncer.
Noah Lands declaró: "Missy Elliott represents everything the Icon Award celebrates. Her groundbreaking artistry has inspired generations of performers, and having Janet Jackson, last year's honoree, present her with this award makes the moment even more special".
Durante la gala también se entregarán otros reconocimientos. Toni Basil recibirá el Lifetime Achievement Award, presentado por Anita Mann. Vincent Paterson será honrado con el Vanguard Award, presentado por Julie McDonald y Tony Selznick. Paula Abdul presentará el Paula Abdul Legacy Award, cuyo receptor está por anunciarse.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy, exalumno de Dancing With the Stars, se desempeñará nuevamente como anfitrión de la velada.
Lands agregó: "We're also excited to recognize Toni Basil and Vincent Paterson for their extraordinary contributions to dance and entertainment, and to welcome Paula Abdul and Anita Mann back to the gala".
La gala de etiqueta negra incluirá cena, ceremonia de premios y entretenimiento en vivo, con una actuación especial del grupo de tap femenino Syncopated Ladies de Chloé Arnold. Liza Minnelli será la presidenta honoraria, junto con el Comité de la Gala of the Stars que incluye a Mann, McDonald, NappyTabs, Tori Spelling y William Seely.
