Jane Fonda rinde tributo a Robert Redford y revela un flechazo de 50 años en el Festival de Cine Clásico de TCM

Hollywood, 02 de mayo de 2026.- Jane Fonda fue la atracción principal en la noche inaugural del Festival de Cine Clásico de TCM, evento que tuvo lugar en el TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX y que rindió homenaje al fallecido Robert Redford. Durante la velada, la actriz de 88 años testificó sobre la integridad inquebrantable de su frecuente coprotagonista en una conversación con Ben Mankiewicz, anfitrión de TCM.
Fonda y Redford trabajaron juntos por primera vez en la película 'The Chase' (1966), cuando ambos estaban casados. Su segunda colaboración fue 'Barefoot in the Park' (1967) y su última película juntos fue 'Our Souls at Night' (2017). En su discurso, Fonda admitió haber tenido un flechazo, aparentemente no correspondido, durante más de 50 años de trabajar juntos.
"He was meant to be in movies. He was a brilliant movie star. He also was the most gorgeous human being I had ever been with. He was very smart and he was really funny. He loved practical jokes, and he was reckless. Not so reckless that he would have an affair with me…", declaró Fonda sobre su colega.
La actriz recordó una conversación temprana sobre la infidelidad: "I met him on 'The Chase' [their first film together, in 1966] and, oh my God… I mean, we were both married, and I asked him, 'Do you ever have affairs?' And he had this weird answer. He said, 'Well, if I was gonna have an affair, it would be with somebody that was like a hooker.'"
Fonda también compartió anécdotas sobre sus intereses comunes fuera del cine, señalando que mientras ella construía muros de piedra en el campo, Redford, quien estaba en Hollywood para filmar con ella, realmente quería estar en Utah haciendo lo mismo: "And so we had such a good time talking about stacking stones", dijo.
Sobre su atracción física, Fonda fue explícita al recordar una escena: "I remember being in the bed. We were supposed to be really cold, which gave an excuse to roll up against him. … I have such a crush on him. I mean, I was looking at the last little scene of us from 'Electric Horseman' [in the introductory montage], and we were standing there and I kept trying to grab his hand". Al resumir lo que estaba dispuesta a aceptar físicamente de Redford, añadió entre risas: "Anything".
Sin embargo, aclaró la naturaleza de su relación en su último proyecto conjunto: "In the last one we did together [2017's 'Our Souls at Night'], we were in bed together all the time. But nothing".
