Jamie Bell repasa su carrera a los 40 años y analiza el uso extremo del 'Método' en Hollywood

Ciudad De México, 20 de junio de 2026.- Jamie Bell, quien debutó a los 11 años en la película 'Billy Elliot' y ganó el premio BAFTA a mejor actor principal a los 14 años siendo la persona más joven en lograrlo en esa categoría, tiene ahora 40 años y protagoniza actualmente la serie limitada de HBO 'Half Man'. En esta producción, Bell interpreta a un personaje llamado Niall, quien toma malas decisiones y se encuentra en una espiral descendente.
"He's just choosing the wrong decision at every possible turn", dijo Bell sobre su角色. El actor describió el arco del personaje como "this dark downward spiral of self-hatred, self-loathing and self-destruction. And clearly, a man who has been given every opportunity to succeed. He's experiencing success almost for the first time in his life, and he doesn't know what to do with it, and doesn't acknowledge it".
Al reflexionar sobre su propia trayectoria tras un inicio temprano y exitoso, Bell señaló: "When you come out of the gate with something that is so loved in that way, it's a great gift, but it can also be a bit of a curse, because you have to carry that around with you and you almost have to live up to it. It's a responsibility to go and have a great career, but it's easier said than done". A lo largo de los años, ha trabajado en películas como 'Jumper', 'Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool', 'Rocketman' y 'All of Us Strangers'.
Sobre la industria y la dedicación requerida, el británico afirmó: "Nothing is a given" y agregó que "You have to love it to live the life". Asimismo, destacó la conexión entre el crecimiento personal y profesional: "There will be a lot of rejection and hardship, and you have to learn more about yourself as you go. You can only grow as an actor as you grow as a person. If you're not growing as a person, you can't really grow as an actor".
En el contexto de las técnicas actuacionales, el 'Método' utiliza recursos para que un actor se meta en la cabeza del personaje que interpreta, aunque es considerado controvertido.
